Studies have validated the EPDS for use during pregnancy and as early as one week postpartum (although it is suggested that there may be higher sensitivity and specificity closer to 4-6 weeks postpartum). This instrument is 10 questions long and rates the frequency of a patient\u2019s symptoms.
