Naomi’s experience using daily assessments and seeing her results visualized through the Greenspace Measurement-Based Care (MBC) platform was a key factor in her successful recovery. She saw a gap at GreeneStone, in that without a MBC solution in place, clients didn’t have access to the same insights or agency in their care that helped her build recovery capital during her journey. Naomi felt that providing clients with a way to understand their own symptoms would enhance engagement in their care process and improve outcomes. This was her initial motivation to implement Greenspace at GreeneStone, in order to help others become empowered in their treatment process.
THE NUMBERS
2,000+ Completed assessments in six months.
87% Therapeutic Alliance (BR-WAI) Score.
44% Average symptom improvement.
THE RESULTS
Before
Prior to implementing Greenspace, GreeneStone clients had to rely on their memory of past symptoms in order to reflect on their progress. Because of the regular fluctuations that occur throughout addictions recovery, it is very challenging for clients to reflect on and remember the progress they have made, especially on more difficult days.
Without insights from their client dashboard and the ability to visualize the patterns of their changing symptoms, it made it difficult for clients or clinicians to identify triggers and work to build appropriate coping mechanisms they could utilize during treatment, and carry with them post discharge. Naomi wanted to implement Measurement-Based Care with the hope that it would act as a“self-empowerment tool,” which clients would use to gain control over their addiction and build recovery capital. In doing so, clients would be provided with the tools they needed to better understand their symptoms, challenges, and overall progress.
After
GreeneStone believes that the most significant value of implementing Measurement-Based Care has been improving the treatment experience for clients. As a result, the platform is managed by GreeneStone Recovery Coaches, who are responsible for encouraging clients to engage with Greenspace as a “self-empowerment tool”.
Each person in treatment now has daily assessments automatically delivered to them, which translate to an easy to understand dashboard that helps them visualize their changes and understand the impact treatment is having on them. Clients feel like they have more control over their own care process when they understand their own symptoms, see an improved therapeutic alliance and are able to engage in conversations around the ups or downs they’re experiencing with their Recovery Coach or clinician in a transparent way.
When clients exit the facility, they continue to have access to the platform and assessments. This allows GreeneStone to understand the impact of treatment post discharge and, more importantly, allows clients to self monitor their symptoms, learn about past and new triggers and feel empowered to take ownership over their continued progress.
