Integration Features

Greenspace and Netsmart will work closely with each organization to ensure their integration is successful and the process is seamless. Below are some of the key integration features that we’ve built into our approach.

Automatic Client Creation

Clients are automatically created in Greenspace based on your team’s ideal workflow, and remain updated between Greenspace and the EHR. This allows client setup to occur without any manual steps for a clinician or admin. Data fields mapped might include: email, phone number, program, provider, kiosk code, ‘tags’, etc.

Flexible Delivery Schedule

Assign and Deliver Assessments Seamlessly

You can automatically assign assessment packages, the schedule for each assessment (e.g. every 2 weeks), and the associated delivery method (such as Email, SMS, Kiosk) to clients via the integration. This can be based on existing EHR data fields, such as program, diagnosis, evidence-based practice, etc.

Enhanced Analytics Data

Additional patient information can be shared between Greenspace and myAvatar or myEvolv. This might include demographics or SDOH information. Teams can leverage this information to strengthen their outcome data, insights, and reporting.

Review Assessment Results in Netsmart

A visualization of each client’s assessment results will be sent back to the EHR, along with any insights or risk flags. This will maintain myAvatar or myEvolv as the single client record and ensure that this information is immediately accessible to the whole care team.

Contextual Launch and SSO

Users can easily open Greenspace with one-click from myAvatar or myEvolv (on the client chart). This enables simple and rapid access to expanded functionality within Greenspace (interactive results display, adjusting assessment schedules, or manually sending a tool).

This integration has been developed with privacy and security of information at its core. We leverage health data standards like HL7 to ensure a fast and secure exchange of health information. Greenspace is also HIPAA compliant and SOC 2 Type II Certified.

What Our Clients Say About Us

26 Reviews

Measurement-Based Care is allowing us to fundamentally strengthen how we deliver care across every level of our organization… With Greenspace, we can monitor real-time client progress, identify when additional support is needed and proactively intervene, and empower our clinicians with actionable data to guide treatment. Greenspace’s MBC platform is helping us deliver meaningful, person-centered care, while also equipping our teams with the tools and confidence they need to support complex cases and achieve better outcomes.

Kathleen Kern

Chief Clinical Officer, Ohio Guidestone

MBC became one of our highest priority strategic initiatives because we can influence care for the individual, we can build systems that unify care across a broad geography and multiple services, and then influence external stakeholders about what is important. We can show it, we can demonstrate it, and we can share that with them.

Brandon Fisher

Chief Strategy Officer, Merakey

We wanted to enhance our Measurement-Based Care process by embedding a sophisticated data gathering tool and increase the use of MBC in a user-friendly way, for both the clients and service providers. Greenspace has helped improve provider and client buy-in to MBC with the ease of use and the feedback it gives to care teams and clients.

What is Measurement-Based Care, and how is it used in mental health?

Measurement-Based Care (MBC) is a clinical practice where standardized, evidence-based measures are used regularly throughout treatment to track client progress and inform care decisions.

In physical health care, this approach is routine. For example, people managing diabetes regularly track blood glucose levels, review trends over time, and use that data to guide treatment decisions with their care team, helping ensure issues are identified early and nothing is overlooked.

Historically, mental health care hasn’t relied on data in the same consistent way. That’s changing as organizations adopt MBC to improve transparency, strengthen quality improvement efforts, and support value-based care models. With MBC, clinicians and clients can clearly see whether treatment is working, adjust care when progress stalls, and make more informed decisions together.

For example, our partners at OhioGuidestone use Measurement-Based Care to better understand client experiences and identify opportunities for improvement across programs. By embedding MBC into routine care, they support over 15,000 individuals and families each year and have achieved an average therapeutic alliance of 83%.

Is this MBC module and integration a fit for my organization?

First, it’s important to identify what the current state is for your team. Are clinicians and clients completing assessment tools? What is the consistency and frequency? What is the feedback of clinicians on the current process (e.g. is it clinically meaningful / what is the effort level)? What quality of data does your organization have to provide visibility into care and outcomes (as opposed to outputs)?

Second, how do your strategic priorities and goals align with investing in MBC. Typically organizations are looking to accomplish one of the following:

  1. Improve care outcomes;
  2. Increase client engagement (reduce dropout, no-shows, cancellations);
  3. Have greater clarity into quality of care across programs;
  4. Improve health equity; or
  5. Prepare for value-based care / reimbursement.

Third, you can determine what the right solution is for your organization. Integration is not a requirement for a successful implementation of MBC; however, it can enable significant benefits including automation, increased consistency of measurement, and reduced administrative burden.

To evaluate this solution and its potential fit for your team, schedule a call with one of the Greenspace team members.

What is the timeline to implement this solution?

The target implementation timeline will be 3 months, including planning, workflow design, technical configuration, training and go-live. This will vary by organization and is dependent on several factors, such as scale, complexity of the workflow design, and the training and implementation plan.

Can we add custom measures or assessments?

Yes. Any assessments that are not currently available on the platform can be added. Greenspace has an existing database of over 500 evidence-based assessments that can be leveraged.

Will clinicians need to change how they document care in myAvatar or myEvolv?

No, clinicians can continue documenting care in myAvatar or myEvolv as they do today.

The Greenspace integration is designed to fit into existing clinical workflows, not disrupt them. Outcome measures are assigned, delivered, and scored automatically through Greenspace, while results are surfaced back into myAvatar or myEvolv. This means clinicians don’t need to duplicate documentation or switch systems to access measurement data. myAvatar or myEvolv remains the system of record, with MBC insights embedded directly into care.

Can outcomes data from Greenspace be used in myAvatar or myEvolve reports for funders or audits?

Yes. Outcomes data collected through Greenspace can be made available within myAvatar or myEvolve and used to support reporting needs.

Organizations can leverage this data to demonstrate:

  • Program effectiveness
  • Symptom improvement over time
  • Engagement and completion rates
  • Progress toward quality or funding targets

Is the integration customizable for unique organizational workflows?

The Netsmart–Greenspace integration is highly customizable to reflect how each organization delivers care.

During implementation, Greenspace and Netsmart work with organizations to design workflows based on existing structures such as programs, clinics, provider roles, populations served, and care pathways. This includes customizing:

  • Which assessments are assigned
  • When and how often they are delivered
  • How clients receive assessments (e.g., email, SMS, kiosk)
  • Which data fields are shared between systems
  • How results and insights are surfaced to clinicians and administrators

This flexibility ensures Measurement-Based Care supports clinical practice rather than forcing teams to change how they work.

Can providers adjust assessments directly from myAvatar or myEvolv, or only in Greenspace?

Providers primarily manage and adjust assessments within Greenspace, where the full Measurement-Based Care functionality lives.

Through the Netsmart integration, providers can access assessment results and progress visualizations directly in myAvatar or myEvolv, and use single sign-on (SSO) to move seamlessly into Greenspace when adjustments are needed

This approach ensures myAvatar or myEvolv remains the system of record, while Greenspace provides the specialized tools required to configure assessments, change schedules, and support clinical decision-making without duplicating documentation.

Can assessments be triggered automatically based on myAvatar or myEvolv events (e.g. admission, discharge, program change)?

Yes. Assessments can be automatically triggered based on defined events and data fields in myAvatar or myEvolv. Our integration specialists will work with you to configure automations based on your organization or program’s specific needs.

For example, organizations can configure the integration so that assessments are assigned when specific conditions occur, such as:

  • Client admission or intake
  • Program or level-of-care changes
  • Scheduled milestones or review points
  • Discharge or episode completion
Our team has been using both Greenspace and Netsmart separately. Is it possible to bulk upload client records?

Yes, this can be supported. Specific details can be determined during workflow planning.

My organization is large with many different clinics and programs. Can this level of complexity be supported?

Yes. The Greenspace platform has been built to support enterprise and complex organizations. It has been developed with flexibility as a core consideration, to ensure that each organization’s MBC solution is built specifically with their workflow in mind. Organizations are able to configure multiple clinic/program accounts, allowing for clinic/program specific workflows, reporting, and insights. This structure has enabled over 750 mental health organizations of various sizes to manage their own progress measurement initiatives in a format that is best suited to their processes and team.

Where would I review and report on clinical outcomes?

This will be tailored to each organization.

The integrated Greenspace solution will provide a powerful analytics dashboard that organizations can leverage to visualize and report on program outcomes. These analytics can be enhanced with data elements from myAvatar or myEvolv (such as demographics and SDOH information).

Netsmart will continue to be your central and comprehensive reporting engine for your EHR data, including: revenue, billing, reimbursement, staff workflow, efficiencies, and more.

In addition, some teams will leverage a data warehouse and BI tools. Both Netsmart and Greenspace can support an integration of data to an external data warehouse.

What privacy and security standards are maintained in providing this integrated solution?

Security of patient information and privacy is the foundation of the Greenspace platform. We take this responsibility very seriously and have implemented significant measures to safeguard patients’ personal health information that exceed industry standards and best practices. Greenspace is SOC 2 Type II compliant and conforms to digital and physical security protocols (including HIPAA), with SSL-secured access, AES encryption at the filesystem level, and firewalls protecting all data. We take many additional precautions to protect privacy including: requiring strong passwords, automatic logouts, automatic access logging, secured data backups, two factor authentication and restrictive data access procedures. Please review our Security Page for more details.

Where is patient information and data stored?

All patient information and data is stored in the United States. Greenspace works with a secure cloud hosting provider called Aptible, which is specifically designed to securely manage and store confidential and highly sensitive healthcare information. Aptible has been tested and certified by security professionals from Kaiser Permanente, MD Anderson, UnitedHealth Group, Johns Hopkins, Stanford, and many others. In addition, Aptible is certified for compliance with ISO 27001, SOC 2, and HITRUST CSF.
